Signalling : the defender replays a suit (already played)
Most of the time, during the play, the signal system is the card count (odd/even) when the defender replays a suit (the lead suit for instance).
Example
You are defending in a NT contract ; your partner has led Q ♣, the declarer has captured with his K. You have played your 8 to deny the suit. You later take the lead. You want to play ♣. Which card do you choose ?
