The responder after a strong 2 ♣ opening and a take-out double by the LHO
If not alerted by the opps, the double of a 2
♣ opening shows a solit suit in
♣. The attitude of the responder will be similar to that after an overcall in a suit:
- With nothing interesting to show and less than 6-7HCP, he will pass
- With a good 5+ cards suit with a high honor and the calues for gamre , the responder bids his suit
- From 7HCP and with a regular hand , he must redouble
- 3♣ is a cue-bid and shows a shortness in ♣ (the suit shown by the double)
- Careful : 2 ♦ shows a nice suit and 6-7HCP...as it is not used as a relay anymore !
Example : You are in South and your partner openede 2
