With a 1NT overcall, Opp is showing a regular distribution and a strength of 15-17HCP : therefore now you know the strength of each partnership.
The differents bids you can use are :
  • PASS...nothing to bid !
  • X with 9HCP your partnership has the majority of points, this bid is punitive.
  • major support bid in P's suit if you are fitted and have a few points
  • New suit bidwith a long and strong suit and 6-9HCP
  • Le 2 trèfles boussole ou Landik to find a fit in one of the majors
