East's signal on lead : suit preference

Suit preference signal
This shows P what suit you should play next.
  • Playing a low card asks for the lowest of the remaining suits not on the table
  • Playing a high card asks for the highest of the remaining suits not on the table

When can you play this signal? On an ace lead :
  • if dummy has a singleton, the Partner of the player on lead signals suit preference.
  • if dummy is doubleton, he shows the number of cards he holds (on ace play) and then his suit preference on Partner's 2nd round of play,
