The Lightner double
It's a double against a slam in a suit, which asks Partner to lead in an unnamed suit or to find an unusual lead. Partner has to exclude :
  • leading in the slam suit
  • leading in a suit in which the Opps have a fit
  • leading in an unbid suit
Most of the time, the player on lead needs to find a void in his P's hand.
