Rotative Sputnik.
This convention is used by a large number of players worldwide. It's a type of Texas bid by the Responder when the Opp has overcalled with 1 or 1. The aim is for the Overcaller to be on lead...
After an overcall, Responder can bid the following :
  • X always promises a minimum of 4 cards in the major immediately after the overcalled suit :
    • On an 1 overcall X promises a minimum of 4 cards
    • On a 1 overcall X promises a minimum of 4 cards
  • bidding 1 promises a minimum of 4 cards
  • bidding 1 denies 4 cards but gives the possibility of a 1NT bid

  • a non jump bid in Responder's suit promises a fit and a 1st zone opening
  • a double jump bid in Responder's suit promises a fit and a 2nd zone opening
