Defending in the trump suit when in 2nd position
Defense attitude in the trump suit, when sitting in 2nd position. Your opponents hold at least 9 trump cards
When the declarer's line holds a minimum of 9 trump cards, follow this simple rule : never play your honor when in 2nd position (either before or after dummy).And be ready not to hesitate...play quickly, otherwise the declarer will know where the missing honor is..! That's a strict but simple rule ! Example :

Solution (4573) When the declarer holds the Ace, he usually plays dummy's Q in order to try to capture the K. When he plays a low card from his hand, it's most probably because he hasn't got the Ace.. your partner has it...and it may be a singleton. So, even though you are in 2nd position, don't cover the first card..play a low card !
