Two weak opening: Opener's rebid after Responder's 2NT bid

Responder's NT bid is asking for information : Opener must then bid his strength and/or dstribution.
With a minimum opening Opener rebids his suit at the 3 level
  With a maximum opening (8-9HCP) : Opener bids :
  • an outside honor at the 3 level
  • a singleton/chicane at the 4 level
  • with a strong hand, no singleton and no outside honor : 3NT
  • If you have a singleton and an outside honor, give priority to bidding your outside honor.

Problem 4605 2NT is a forcing bid asking for information. Responder is asking Opener to describe his hand : strength/ outside honor/distribution

A bid at the 3 level shows maximum strength ...for a pre-empt bid!
  • Only bid your hand at the 3 level if you have a maximum 8-9HCP and possibly with an exceptional 10HCP.
  • Only bid the 2 highest honors : Ace and King
  • If you have a singleton and an outside honor, give priority to bidding your outside honor.

Problem E5075 3 : Opener is maximum in his bid and now bids his outside honor (not the singleton)

Bidding a singleton at the 4 level shows maximum strength ..for a pre-empt opening
With minimum points, don't bid your singleton, perhaps your team don't have the points to bid Game.

Problem E4982 Opener's bid shows that he has a minimum opening. Bidding his singleton at the 4 level would mean playing at Game level.

After a 2 weak major opening Opener's rebid of 3NT shows maximum points and NOT a bid to play NT.
With maximum points (8-9HCP) and nothing else special in his hand, Opener bids 3NT showing:
  • no outside honor
  • no chicane/singleton
