2 NT Opener's rebid

After a 2 NT opening, Responder bids either a Stayman or a Texas bid, the same as if were a 1NT opening
  • Responder's 3 bid promises : at least 3-4HCP and a major with at least 4 cards. Opener bids his major or 3 with no 4 card major
  • With both majors with 4 cards, bid 3 NT ; Responder chooses the major
  • With a 4333 distribution avoid Stayman bids : Regular distribution makes it more difficult to play in a suit
  • Texas for a major with at least 5 cards
  • Responding bid of 4 NT is a quantitative bid asking if you have the strength to go for Slam : Pass or bid 6 NT !
