1) When you hold a long suit with intermediate cards, try to capture one of the opponents' honors...figuring out where it could be in best position...

2) But, when you don't have intermediate cards, do your best in order to avoid having your "small" honor captured by the opponent. Take a chance... sometimes it's worth it !
