The double of a transfer is always 'lead directind'. The opener then has 3 main options :
  • Redouble: fitted, without a stopper in the opps' suit
  • Rectification of the Transfer : fitted, with a stopper in the opps' suit
  • Pass : not fitted, without a stopper in the opps' suit

Exercise 6592 Without a fit, pass. the rectification by the responder at the minimum level then shows that he wants to leave it there. Pass after 2
 
 
Redouble
The redouble promises a 3 cards fit and no stoppers in the overcalled suit.
Exercise 1535 XX By convention, it shows a 3 cards fit in and no stopper in .Your partner will be the declarer and will have his honors protected on the lead (Imagine the King in his hand...)...With a fit and a stopper, you would have rectified the transfer
 
 
Rectification of the transfer
Caution, the rectification premises both a 3 cards fit and a stopper in the overcalled suit !
