'Meet me' bids by the defense

'Meet me' bids
A 'Meet me' bid can be used by the responder or by the partner of the overcaller :
  • The responder's 'meet me' bid. It can be used
    • seither after an initial pass (Sheet 21SC)
    • or by bidding a minor at level 4 after an overcall (Sheet 43HR)
  • The 'meet me' bid by the partner of the overcaller (Sheet 41DM)

The 'meet me' bid always involves a shift in a new suitwith 1 or more jumps and promises:
  • a 4 cards fit in the partner's suit
  • 5 cards in the suit bid
  • The strength can vary by situation, but has at least around 10HCPs
