The count of cover cards
Reminder on the count of losers
The count of cover cards Reminder on the Losing Trick Count We count as a loser in each suit of at least three cards, the number of missing aces, kings, and queens. Therefore, there are at most 3 losers per suit: 1 for the ace, 1 for the king, and 1 for the queen. If the suit has only one card... there is at most one loser! Note that this count only works in the long suits of your two-suited hand. In short suits, only effective honors are counted (the ace in a singleton, the ace and the king in a doubleton). Warning! This losing trick count is a statistical technique for evaluating hands: it is not the complement to 13 of the trick count... This method is used with two-suited hands by the intervener to decide whether or not to intervene: at the 2-level, the maximum acceptable is: 7 losers, non-vulnerable against vulnerable for a major two-suited hand (contract at the 2-level) 6 losers if the vulnerability is equal 5 losers if your side is unfavorable If the contract is played at the 3-level, reduce the count of acceptable losers by 1 in each vulnerability situation.

The count of cover cards
It allows the partner of the intervener to determine the correct level of their response in the absence of any information about the actual strength of their partner's hand, which can be very strong. There is no limit to Michaels (we do not use a double with very powerful two-suited hands).
How to count cover cards?
In the called suits, any high honor (Ace, King, or Queen) is a cover card. In the other suits, the Ace is a cover card and the King if it is accompanied by the Ace or the Queen in a doubleton.
Example
You are in the South; your partner has intervened with a Michaels cue bid of 2 Spades. Count your cover cards.

Problem E26104
North overcalled with a maximum of 6 losers. You have three cover cards: the King of Hearts, the Ace of Clubs, and the Queen of Diamonds. Your partner has a maximum of 6 losers: you cover 3 of them with your cover cards... hence, bid game at 4 Hearts (it's easier to win 10 tricks than 11...)

You have only 6 points but count only 6 losers: 2 in spades, 2 in hearts, 1 in clubs, and 1 in diamonds. At the 2-level, the maximum tolerated when non-vulnerable is 7!So iovercall by bidding 2 diamonds to show your two-suited hand.
